This photo of Vega was taken in 2011 from my back yard. It is overexposed to show the detail of the star field. It reminds me of a shot taken at Lowell Observatory some years ago. The biggest difference between this and the Lowell Observatory photo is that I received no grants and I don’t complain about cuts in Federal funding. BTW, Vega has a magnitude of zero. It was originally the standard by which the magnitudes of all the other stars and planets were measured.
